Why Retreats Change You (And Why Experience Matters)

There is a difference between a workshop and a retreat.

And there is a difference between someone who hosts retreats…and someone who holds them.

After 15 years of working hands-on with women’s nervous systems, and being recognised as an award-winning reflexologist and Inspirational Woman of Portsmouth, I understand something deeply:

Transformation requires safety.

A retreat is not about escape. It is about expansion within a held container.

When women gather intentionally: away from noise, expectation and performance; something shifts.

Defences soften.
Truth surfaces.
Identity recalibrates.

But this only happens when the facilitator understands:

  • Group energy dynamics
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Emotional safety
  • Spiritual grounding
  • Practical integration

Retreat space is sacred space.

My Glastonbury retreat is not about aesthetic spirituality. It is about rooted, embodied remembrance.

If you feel the call to Avalon, trust that.

You deserve more than surface transformation.
