As the wheel turns once more, we arrive at Beltane, the sacred fire festival of fertility, passion, and blossoming life.
Celebrated on May 1st, Beltane marks the halfway point between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice — a time when the Earth is alive with colour, desire, and creative energy.
Beltane invites us to honour the fire within: our inspiration, sensuality, courage, and the spark of life itself. It’s a celebration of union — of body and spirit, of divine masculine and feminine, of ourselves with nature.
This is the perfect moment to connect with the Fire Elementals — the Salamanders, who dance in the flames, guiding transformation, willpower, and the courage to act on your dreams.
Create Your Own Beltane Fire Altar
Even if you can’t dance around a bonfire, you can still welcome the energy of fire into your sacred space with a Beltane Fire Altar. Here’s how:
🌟 1. Choose a space
Find a surface (indoors or outside) where you can safely place a candle and build your altar.
🌟 2. Represent the Fire Element
Add a candle (red, orange, or gold are lovely), incense, dried herbs (like rosemary, cinnamon, or frankincense), or even a small cauldron or fire-safe bowl.
🌟 3. Add Beltane Symbols
Include flowers (especially hawthorn, rose, or marigold), ribbons, honey, or symbols of fertility and union like crystals in pairs or spirals.
🌟 4. Crystals to Ignite Your Inner Flame
Try using:
🔴 Carnelian – for confidence, vitality, and passion
🧡 Sunstone – for joy, abundance, and optimism
❤️ Garnet – for grounding, sensuality, and courage
🌟 5. Call in the Fire Elementals
Light your candle with intention. As the flame flickers, call in the Salamanders. Feel them warming your spirit, awakening your power, and fuelling your desires.
Say something like:
“Spirits of Fire, I welcome you.
Bless this space with courage, passion, and light.
Ignite my dreams, purify my fears,
And guide me forward in radiant truth.”

This is not just a time to wish, but to act. What do you truly want to create or experience?
Use your altar for Beltane intentions — write down your desire and burn it (safely) in the candle flame. Offer gratitude to the Fire Spirits for their guidance.
